Giancarlo Stanton has been struggling to start the Yankees season, and things got worse for him on Friday as he went 0-4 from the plate against the Toronto Blue Jays.

The Blue Jays ended up winning the game against the Yankees by a score of 3-0. For Stanton, it was yet another example of his struggles this season. According to Game on Brain, Stanton only has one home run this season. Furthermore, his splits are .125/.160/.292.
Despite these struggles, Yankees manager Aaron Boone is on Stanton's side. As he told the media after yesterday's game, Stanton is a streaky player. However, once he does get it going, he will quickly become one of the best hitters in the game, again.
"He can be streaky like that. Once he gets it going, hop on."
According to CBS Sports, Boone also had high praise of Blue Jays pitcher Yusei Kikuchi, who was largely responsible for the Yankees' problems. At the end of the day, Boone understands pitching can win games.
"I thought he was really good. We didn't have much going against him the first few innings, but it was kind of in line with what we've been doing -- I think he was around 70 pitches at that three-inning mark -- we were taking tough at-bats, he was just beating us in spots. He did a good job changing speeds. He was quick at the top (of the zone). Worked both sides of the plate too. Didn't have a lot of real good scoring chances."

Tonight, the Yankees will have a chance to get back at the Blue Jays. The game goes down at 7:05 PM Eastern Standard Time and will be broadcast on Sportsnet in Canada. Stay tuned to Blue Jays Insider for the latest news and updates from around the baseball world.
