Former Cy Young winner and all-star pitcher Trevor Bauer has finally signed a new contract for next season as he has agreed to terms with the Yokohama DeNA BayStars of the NPB in Japan.

Many thought that Bauer would be given a second chance this off-season in the MLB after posting great numbers in Japan in 2023 and Mexico in 2024 but he has yet to make it back to the majors.

Bauer has not pitched in the MLB since 2021 when he was with the Los Angeles Dodgers but was suspended indefinitely after he was being investigated off the field.
The cases against Bauer have since been drooped but an MLB team has yet to sign him since which is why he has decided to play overseas in Japan where he has been doing pretty well.
This will be Bauer's second stint with the The Yokohama DeNA BayStars as the two parties have agreed to terms on a new deal but the exact details of the contract have yet to be announced.
The Yokohama DeNA BayStars of Nippon Professonal Baseball have agreed to a deal with right-hander Trevor Bauer, according to multiple reports out of Japan (including from Nikkan Sports). The BayStars are expected to soon officially announce the signing. -Polishuk

The last time Bauer played in the NPB was in 2023 when he posted a 2.76 ERA in 130 innings pitched for Yokohama before signing in Mexico in 2024 where he finished with a 2.48 ERA in 83 innings pitched.
It will mark Bauer's second season in NPB and second with the BayStars, after posting a 2.76 ERA over 130 2/3 innings with Yokohama in 2023. In between his two stints in Japan, Bauer pitched with Diablos Rojos del Mexico in 2024, delivering a 2.48 ERA over 83 1/3 frames. - Polishuk

Bauer is now 34 years old and has not pitched in the MLB in 4 years which means the chances of him returning to the majors at this point are extremely slim.
