The Toronto Blue Jays have been aggressively going after Pete Alonso this off-season but it looks like negotiations have hit a standstill as the Los Angeles Angels have now also gotten involved.
The Blue Jays made an offer to Alonso which apparently sits around the $75 million mark on a three year term but Alonso has been holding out in hopes that the New York Mets raise their offer.

The Blue Jays are still hopeful that they will be able to get a deal done as they know that Alonso is interested in coming to Toronto and they also have the highest offer on the table as of right now.
Getting a deal done with Alonso seems to be the top priority for the Blue Jays right now as he is by far the best free agent still available and is exactly what they are looking for in terms of offense.
Fans are hoping that a deal will get done in the next couple of days which will turn into them getting a real shot at signing Max Scherzer.
