The Toronto Blue Jays have been rumored to be one of the top teams to be going after superstar free agent Juan Soto this off-season.
The Blue Jays are looking to add offense this winter and if they would somehow be able to land Juan Soto, their offense will surely benefit since he is one of the best hitters in the MLB and is still very young.
The Blue Jays projected offer for Juan Soto has been announced
The Yankees reportedly made Soto an offer for $575 million which is way lower than he is looking for and it is believed that they have no interested in going up on their offer which means he is likely not returning to New York.
According to MLB insider Bob Nightengale, he believes that the Yankees have no plan on budging with their offer and this could allow an opening for the Blue Jays to make an offer at $630 million for 14 years.
"The Blue Jays still have $700 million burning a hole in their wallet, and after Yankees refuse to budge from their original offer, the Blue Jays swoop in and get their man for $630 million over 14 years," Nightengale said.
