The Toronto Blue Jays have locked up Vladimir Guerrero Jr. with a massive 14-year, $500 million extension, but Bo Bichette remains on track to become a free agent once the current season concludes.

The next big question is whether Bo Bichette will be the next Blue Jay to earn a big extension?

Blue Jays star shortstop Bo Bichette predicted to sign a contract extension worth around $200 million.

Bo Bichette ranks among the top shortstops in the league and would likely draw significant interest if he reaches free agency. Although he hasn't agreed to an extension yet, FanSided's Jesse Courville-Lynch believes it's only a matter of time before Bichette signs a new contract to stay with the Blue Jays.
"It's simple, he's going to re-sign with the Blue Jays at some point. All indications point toward Bichette wanting to return to the Blue Jays and remain in Toronto for his entire career, it's just a matter of when he and the team sit down to finalize a new contract. It's safe to assume that if he would generate tons of interest if he were to hit free agency, and would likely command a contract near $200 million." -Courville-Lynch

Aaliyan Mohammed from The Sporting News writes that Bo Bichette, a two-time All-Star who has twice led the American League in hits, is set to command a massive contract in free agency. While the Blue Jays recently committed $500 million to Vladimir Guerrero Jr., they haven't consistently proven themselves as a winning franchise.
"Why would Bichette want to stay when he could get paid by a winning organization? The answer is Guerrero. Bichette has noted that his goal is to keep playing with his friend." -Mohammed

Here's what Bichette told Sportsnet's Shi Davidi before a rehab assignment last season.
"When I had time to think about what I want, basically, my ultimate goal really is to play with Vladdy forever, to win a championship with him and to do that with this organization. I'm 100 percent committed to doing whatever it takes to accomplish those things. That's where I'm at." -Bichette

If Bo Bichette reaches free agency, he'll be one of the most sought-after players available. However, his strong desire to keep playing alongside Vladimir Guerrero Jr. could give the Blue Jays a significant edge in re-signing him, even if other teams come calling.
We'll have to wait and see!
