Toronto Blue Jays star outfielder Daulton Varsho was massively disrespected in recent Steamer projections as he is expected to be negative defensively.
Varsho is coming off an unbelievable defensive season in 2024 which earned him his first Gold Glove award and was nominated him for a Platinum Glove award but ended up just missing out.

Varsho had an unbelievable 2024 season which ended up coming to an end abruptly but due season ending surgery that will not keep him out of the start of the 2025 season.
In Steamer's recent projections, they listed Varsho projected stats for the 2025 to season to be in the negatives defensively going from 13.7 last season to -1.2 in 2025.

Fans were quick to point out how ridiculous this is even if he is coming off injury, he will not go from being one of the best defensive players in baseball to a negative defensively player the following year.
His defensive value at CF the last two years is 14.6, it's literally impossible for him to be a negative, and rotator cuff surgery doesn't stop you from catching baseballs

While there are chances that Varsho has a slow start due to his surgery, the chances of him having this big of a drop off is almost impossible.
Hopefully Varsho comes out of the gate stronger than ever next season and proves all these doubters wrong.
