The Toronto Blue Jays and Chicago Cubs trade offer for Vladimir Guerrero Jr announced

The Toronto Blue Jays are still unsure what to do with Vladimir Guerrero Jr and a possible trade with the Chicago Cubs has now come up involving multiple players including Kevin Alcantara.
The Blue Jays know exactly how much Guerrero will sign for if they want to keep him in Toronto but as they have yet to make that offer, it looks like they might be trading him instead.
The Blue Jays and Cubs looking at possible trade for Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
MLB reporter Jim Riley recently spoke of a trade between the Cubs and Blue Jays that would send Guerrero to Chicago in exchange for Kevin Alcantara, Cole Mathis and Javier Assad.
Riley's proposal would have the Cubs send prospects Kevin Alcantara and Cole Mathis as well as starter Javier Assad to the Blue Jays in exchange for Guerrero. -Chawaga
«It is going to be Kevin Alcantara, he's the prize piece, along with Javier Assad and Cole Mathis,» Riley suggested. «Alcantara is the number 76 prospect in baseball.
Assad probably works into the rotation immediately and you've got Cole Mathis as the number 12 prospect in the Cubs organization. So, you get an outfielder, a prospect outfielder who did make his debut last year, a projected prospect in Mathis, who also is listed as a pitcher, and you've got Assad who is there immediately making a big impact right away, day one.» -Riley

The main part of the deal for the Blue Jays would be acquiring prospect Kevin Alcantara who had 14 homeruns, 61 RBIs with a .278 batting average and .353 on base percentage in Triple-A last season.
While none of the players coming back are of Guerrero's caliber, the Blue Jays would still be getting back a solid return in exchange for a one year rental for the Cubs in 2025.
Fans in Toronto would be heartbroken to see Guerrero leave but at this point it seems more likely that he is traded than they keep him.
