The Toronto Blue Jays have signed another pitcher

The Blue Jays lineup is rather full now and even GM Ross Atkins stated that if the team acquires any new players moving forward, it will likely be through a trade since there are not many free agents left.

Toronto has made a lot of additions this off-season to their farm system by signing a ton of minor league deals in hopes of raising their rankings as they finished the 2024 season in 24th among all MLB farm systems.

The Blue Jays announced that they have agreed to terms on a minor league deal with right handed pitcher Jorge Gonzalez but there has been no update on if he also received a non-roster Spring Training invitation.

Gonzalez does not have a ton known about him as he is an 18 year old pitcher from the Dominican Republic who is 6'5 and weighs 200 pounds.

The Blue Jays assigned Gonzalez to the Dominican Summer League Blue Jays right after they signed him meaning that the chances of him landing a Spring Training invite this close to the start of camp are very slim.

This could end up being an interesting signing for the Blue Jays since Gonzalez is still very young and with the frame he has, there is a chance he has some serious speed when pitching.

Hopefully with all these new minor league additions and international signings the Bleu Jays will be able to improve their farm system over the 2025 season which should not be too hard after last seasons ranking.

It will be interesting to see how all of these new young players end up doing this season.
