Bleacher Reports' Joel Reuter announced recently that he believes that the Blue Jays will be closing a deal with former Yankees second baseman Gleyber Torres shortly as he would be a perfect fit for what the team is looking for.

Torres is coming off a solid season with the Yankees in which he helped the team reach the World Series which they lost in 5 games to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The former Yankees second baseman had 15 homeruns and 63 RBIs with a .263 batting average and .330 on base percentage which is the type of consistent hitter the Blue Jays are looking for in free agency.
The Toronto Blue Jays, looking to solidify their infield and provide some pop to the lineup, are predicted to seize a starter away from the American League East frontrunner. -Carothers
Not only can Torres help the Blue Jays in terms of consistent hitting but is also a solid defender and would give them a true starter at second base which they are currently in the market for.
The Yankees do not seem to intrigued to re-sign which puts the Blue Jays as the front-runners to land Torres this off-season.
