The Toronto Blue Jays have been looking at some interesting options to finish the off-season including trading for former 1st overall pick Spencer Torkelson.

The Blue Jays have been looking at a few interesting options prior to the start of Spring Training in a few weeks including signing Pete Alonso and possibly adding another bullpen arm.

The Blue Jays looking to possibly trade the Tigers Spencer Torkelson

The Tigers recently acquired Gleyber Torres which has pushed Colt Keith to first base which now leaves Spencer Torkelson without a spot which is why he has become a trade candidate.
The Tigers haven't done much this offseason, but they signed Gleyber Torres, which forced Colt Keith to move over to first base. That displaced Spencer Torkelson for the time being, and now he's being viewed as a trade candidate. -Dionis

The Blue Jays could be interested in taking a shot at Torkelson especially if they end up unable to re-sign Vladimir Guerrero Jr and trade him as they would need another option at first base.
Torkelson has been gaining some interests from a few other teams as a report recently came out that the Tigers are apparently looking to two top 15 prospects in return which is a lot for a player that has struggled in the majors.
Torkelson has had his ups and downs throughout his short major league career, but he still brings a lot of power upside with him. His bat has the potential to be excellent and that was proven in 2023. Detroit knows that, even after his projection with the team is to be in Triple-A, and it's why they are reportedly looking for two top-15 prospects in return for the first baseman. -Dionis

If that is truly the asking price, this is a tough trade for the Blue Jays since they have very few stars in their farm system but if they can find a way to get him at a cheaper price, it might be a move worth looking into.
While fans would much rather see Alonso as Guerrero's replacement, Torkelson could end up being a decent second option.
