The Toronto Blue Jays just announced that the New York Mets have claimed infielder Luis De Los Santos off waivers just a few hours after he was put there.
De Los Santos did not see much time in the majors this season with the Blue Jays and failed to do anything proving he belongs which is why the move to put him on waivers comes as no surprise.

Mets have claimed INF Luis De Los Santos off waivers from #BlueJays, per the club's announcement.
Despite being picked up by the Mets, the chances of him seeing any time in the majors next season on a strong Mets team when he couldn't crack a weak Blue Jays team are very slim.
The young infielder saw 29 at bats in the MLB this season for the Blue Jays in which he had 5 hits, 2 runs and 1 RBI with a .172 batting average, .226 on base percentage and ..467 OPS.
As the Blue Jays continue to make plans for free agency and make room for signings there will likely be quite a few more moves made over the next few days, especially in terms of releasing pitchers which they have 16 of currently on their 40 man roster.
Hopefully general manager Ross Atkins makes the right decision when it comes to releasing players.
