The Blue Jays traded pitcher Yimi Garcia last night to the Mariners in exchange for two prospects.
Garcia is headed to Seattle while the Blue Jays got top prospect Jonatan Clase and catcher Jacob Sharp in return.
Per @JeffPassan the #bluejays have traded Yimi Garcia for outfield prospect Jonatan Clase!
Clase is 22 years old and was ranked 10th in the Mariners farm system.
He has appeared in 19 MLB games this year and has a slash line of .195/.233/.220/.452
According to reports, this is a great trade for the Blue Jays as Clase is now top 7 prospects in the Blue Jays rankings with 19 MLB games under his belt. The fact that he is an outfielder is a huge plus as well since Toronto's current outfielders are getting old.
