Full trade, per ESPN sources:
Seattle Mariners receive: outfielder Randy Arozarena
Tampa Bay Rays receive: outfielder Aidan Smith, right-hander Brody Hopkins and a player to be named last.
The Seattle Mariners will boslter their struggling offense with the slugging bat of Arozarena. The main reason for the trasnaction was that Randy Arozarena was struggling this season and it seemed he needed a change of scenery to get his game back. The right-handed slugger joins the squad from the Rays in exchange for minor leaguers RHP Brody Hopkins, OF Aidan Smith and a player to be named later.
«Randy is a dynamic, high-energy all-around player who has excelled in the biggest moments on the biggest stages,» Mariners general manager Justin Hollander said in a statement. «He's going to be a great addition to our clubhouse and lineup.»
