Toronto Blue Jays GM Ross Atkins' job seems to be in jeopardy as there has been rumors that the Blue Jays are interested in Los Angeles Assistant GM Alex Slater.

The Blue Jays have had a rough off-season after missing out on numerous free agents but things have slightly turned around in the last few weeks with the signings of Anthony Santander and Jeff Hoffman.

The Blue Jays are looking at possibly replacing Ross Atkins with Dodgers assistant GM Alex Slater

Atkins has been able to slightly turn around the Blue Jays off-season lately and if they are able to close on Pete Alonso, the off-season will definitely be a success but when looking at his track record since becoming GM it is hard to argue that he should keep his job even with a solid winter.
This season is big for Atkins' future because if he cannot get the job done once again this year even if he is able to add a bunch of solid players such as Alonso and Scherzer, he will likely be fired.
Rumors have suggested that a great replacement for Atkins would be Los Angeles Dodgers current assistant GM and Vice President Alex Slater.
If the Blue Jays expect to return to the World Series anytime soon, a major upgrade to the organization is needed, one that a single player signing simply cannot provide. At some point in the future, Toronto will have an open GM role, but either way, adding Slater to the Front Office should be a top priority for Ed Rogers and his people. -King

Slater has been with the Dodgers for 11 seasons now and is a massive part of their team's success over the last decade and has been crucial in landing massive free agents such as Shohei Ohtani and Blake Snell.
Alex Slater is the Vice President and Assistant General Manager for the LA Dodgers, and he is going into his 11th season with the team, his 14th in the league overall. Prior to being with the Dodgers, he was with the San Diego Padres. There, Slater was involved in evaluating professional players, as well as contributing to the organization's talent acquisition and roster development strategies. -King

There is no denying that regardless of how this off-season ends up, fans would love to see a change in the front-office as they no longer believe that Atkins and Mark Shapiro can get the job done.
This will be a massive season for Atkins and Shapiro's future in Toronto.
