Former Toronto Blue Jays all-star pitcher set to get statue outside stadium

Former Toronto Blue Jays pitcher and Chicago White Sox legend Mark Buehrle will be getting his own statue outside Rate Field this year.
Buehrle spent the majority of his career in Chicago with the White Sox despite a solid stint at the end of his career with the Blue Jays which is why they will be honoring him with a statue.

The White will be celebrating the 20th anniversary on their 2005 World Series win this year which Buehrle was a massive part of and have announced that he will be getting a statue for his legendary efforts.
The 2005 team will be celebrated on July 11th at Rate Field and the White Sox announced that they will be honoring
Buehrle that same night by unveiling his statue outside Rate Field.

Buehrle had a legendary career from 2000-2015 where his most dominant years were spent with the White Sox where he finished with a 161-119 and a 3.83 ERA but his best season came in 2005 where he finished with a 3.15 ERA.
Buehrle pitched for Chicago for the first 12 of his 16 seasons in the majors. Known for working quickly with pinpoint control, the left-hander went 161-119 with a 3.83 ERA in 390 appearances with the White Sox, including 365 starts. -Sportsnet
The White Sox legend is mostly remembered for his time in Chicago but Blue Jays fans also have fond memories of his as he was solid for them in the last two years of his career.
During his time in Toronto finished with 3.39 ERA in 2014 in which he was an all-star and a 3.83 ERA in his final season in the MLB.
Buehrle stated that he is incredibly honored to be getting a statue outside Rate Field and is proud that it will be there forever.
«It's an incredible honour,» Buehrle said. «To put a statue up, of me, out there, forever. I guess the number could be unretired and get taken out and put it back into play. But the statue, unless someone tears it down or does something to it, it's always going to be there.» -Buehrle
