Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette has been scrutinized over the last year after a disappointing 2024 season but MLB insider Matt Vasgersian had some interesting comments to say about him.
Bichette has been surrounded by trade rumors over the last couple weeks despite GM Ross Atkins stating at the winter meetings that he wanted to keep Bichette in Toronto.
MLB insider Matt Vasgersian believes that Bo Bichette will have incredible season
While many believe that the Blue Jays should trade Bichette as they think he will continue to decline and last season was just the beginning, MLB insider Matt Vasgersian believes otherwise.
In a recent interview, Vasgersian stated that he think Bichette will have an incredible bounce back year in 2025 and that he will without a doubt be an all-star once again next season.
MLB Network's Matt Vasgersian believes Bichette will indeed return to form in 2025, as he mentioned on an episode of «Hot Stove» this week. He even went as far as saying the soon-to-be 27-year-old would return to the Midsummer Classic in seven months' time. - Connon
Vasgersian in convinced that Bichette will be at the very least an all-star next season which has fans in Toronto quite excited if he is right because they need him back at the top of his game if they want to climb out of the basement of the AL East.
«I don't expect anything less than an All-Star appearance from Bo Bichette,» Vasgersian said.
This is not that far of a stretch since Bichette was pretty bad last season when he was able to stay healthy but did put up solid numbers during the 2023 season which is only 1 season away.
Bichette hit the injured list twice with calf strains, then had finger surgery that ended his season in September. Across 81 games of action, Bichette hit .225 with four home runs, 31 RBI, five stolen bases, a .598 OPS and a -0.3 WAR. -Connon
