Fans cannot get over Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider's latest outrageous decision
The Toronto Blue Jays had quite the brutal loss against the New York Mets yesterday and it is hard not too point the finger at manager John Schneider for making a terrible decision.
The Blue Jays have been off to a solid start this season despite their tough schedule to start the year but the Mets is by far their toughest matchup so far which showed last night as they got shutout 5-0.
Blue Jays manager John Schneider makes costly decision in 5-0 loss to the Mets
The Blue Jays had multiple issues during yesterday's game as their offense was nowhere to be found but Schneider also did not help the situation by making a very questionable pitching change.
Schneider decided to pull
Gausman out of the game after retiring 14 out of 15 batters while only being at a total of 87 pitches to bring in rookie Mason Fluharty up who has little to no major league experience and had to face Juan Soto.
Manager John Schneider's decision to go with Fluharty with his team trailing by two was curious at best. Gausman retired 14 consecutive batters until he issued a four-pitch walk to leadoff man Francisco Lindor in the sixth inning. He had thrown just 87 pitches and was working on two extra days' rest after his start earlier in the week had been pushed back for matchup purposes. -Chisholm
Fluharty made his MLB debut only a few days ago against the Washington Nationals in which he had a solid performance but pulling Gausman out when he was on a roll to put n a rookie pitcher simply made no sense.
Fluharty is a 23-year-old who, prior to a few days ago, had never pitched at the big-league level. He made his debut April 1 against Nationals star shortstop CJ Abrams, who promptly hit an RBI double to right. He came on to face Soto on Friday, only to see the same thing happen again. How's that for a welcome to the show? -Chisholm
This are the type of moves that fans have seen for years now from Schneider that have caused a lot of outrage which has many believing that Schneider is not the right man for the job.
While Schneider has made some good decisions in the past such as sticking with George Springer this season who has been on fire, these terrible moves are the ones that really stick out.
