The Toronto Blue Jays are still looking to replace Jordan Romano in their bullpen and reports suggest their are extremely close to closing a deal with Jeff Hoffman.

The Blue Jays had one of the worst bullpens in 2024 and while they have added some pieces this winter, none of the pitchers signed truly improve their bullpen the way Hoffman could.

The Blue Jays are closing in on a deal with free agent closer Jeff Hoffman

The Blue Jays need to find themselves a solid closer for next season with Jordan Romano now with the Philadelphia Phillies and Jeff Hoffman is the perfect solution.
According to reports, MLB insider Jon Morosi stated that they Blue Jays and Hoffman have been in negotiations and they seem to be closing in on a multi year deal.
Free agent Jeff Hoffman and the Blue Jays have had productive dialogue in recent days on a potential multiyear deal, sources say.
Hoffman is coming off an unbelievable season in 2024 with the Philadelphia Phillies in which led to his first all-star game appearance as he finished the season with a 2.17 ERA and 10 saves in 68 appearances.
MLB insider Josh Goldberg believes that Hoffman should sign for at least as much as Clay Holmes who signed a three deal worth $38 million with the New York Mets if not even a little more.
Clay Holmes got 3/$38M from the Mets to become a starter.

Would think Jeff Hoffman is looking for at least that considering he had a much better year than Holmes in 2024:
Some believe that with the numbers Hoffman has put up in the last couple seasons, the Blue Jays might look to make him a starting pitcher once again, a role he has not had since 2019 with the Rockies.
Jeff Hoffman would significantly raise the *ceiling* of the Blue Jays pitching staff. He's been a monster back-end RP the last couple seasons and has all the goods to transition back to a SP. He would also slide Yariel to a bullpen role which kills two birds with one stone.
Whether the Blue Jays sign Hoffman for their starting rotation or bullpen, they should make landing him a priority.
