The Toronto Blue Jays have only made 1 signing in 2025 and are still looking to add some players which is why they might be looking to bring back Ryan Yarbrough as he is still a free agent.
The Blue Jays are looking to possibly bring back pitcher Ryan Yarbrough for next season
The Blue Jays bullpen was awful last season which is why they are trying to shake things up this off-season but they still have certain pitchers that could be replaced such as Zach Pop.
One solid option is bringing back relief pitcher Ryan Yarbrough who was very consistent for the Blue Jays last season and it still available on the free agent market.
If the Blue Jays wanted to bolster their bullpen, he was a solid arm for them and could be a safe bet to help them close out games.
If no other team gives him an offer, the Blue Jays should swoop in and try to bring him back. His stats show he is a solid and trustworthy arm, and should be welcomed back if he's interested in a reunion. -Courville-Lynch
The Blue Jays acquired Yarbrough last season season from the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for Kevin Kiermaier and while no one though much of this trade, he ended up doing very well, finishing the season with a 3.19 ERA.
On July 30, 2024, the Blue Jays decided to trade Kevin Kiermaier to the Los Angeles Dodgers. In exchange, they received pitcher Ryan Yarbrough.
Yarbrough, who is 33 years old, remains a free agent this offseason after failing to reach a new agreement with the Blue Jays. With the Jays last season, he posted a 2.31 ERA and added 26 strikeouts through 31.1 innings pitched, as well as a 1-0 record. -Courville-Lynch
The Blue Jays could likely close Yarbrough on a cheap deal and he could easily end up being one of their better relief pitchers next season.
This seems like an easy deal that Ross Atkins should look into but that does not necessarily mean he will get it done.
