Blue Jays outfielder Kevin Kiermaier announced after yesterday's game that he plans on retiring at the end of the 2024 season.

Kiermaier has struggled immensely this season and it seems like he knows it is time to call it a career. The 34 year old told reporters yesterday that he knows it is time and that his body is beaten after all these years of playing but added he will play his hardest until his last game.
«When you know, you know, and I know it's time,» Kiermaier said after the Blue Jays' 6-3 win over the Rays at Rogers Centre. «Playing on this turf all these years, it's beaten me up, but I'm so happy with how everything has played out, and it's not done yet. I don't know what's going to happen with me with the state of our team in the next week, but if I'm on a roster, I'm going to give it all like I always do.»
Clearly Kiermaier wants to continue to play but his body will simply not allow him to be the player he once was.
