Terrible announcement made regarding Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Kevin Gausman in new report

Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Kevin Gausman is heading into a big season this year as he is looking to bounce back after an unfortunate 2024 season but it looks like the projections are even worse for 2025.
There has been rumors lately that the Blue Jays could possibly look into trading Gausman prior to the trade deadline even if he does well this year since he is in the last two years of his contract and they could likely get a solid return.
Blue Jays Kevin Gausman's projections for this season look terrible
Gausman was a Cy Young runner up in 2023 but failed to impress in the same way last season as he came into the year injured which his game suffered from but he did improve by a lot in the second half of the season.
Despite finishing the year on a high note, MLB insider Josh Goldberg stated that his projections for this season are quite bad as his expected ERA is 4.71 which would be his worst ERA since 2019 when he finished with a 5.72 ERA.

Another worrisome projection is that his strikeouts per nine innings is expected to drop from 11.53 to 8.06 which is another sizeable drop off for Gausman.
This numbers might end up being a little harsh since the first half of the 2024 season he struggled because he was still injured which he admitted to later on in the year and once he recovered, he looked a lot better.
The area that backs these projections is that Gausman is turning 35 years old this season and has shown signs on a decline which is why these projections could make sense.
If the Blue Jays want to do well this season and not just barely make the playoffs, they will need everyone at the top of their game, especially Gausman who is still seen as their best pitcher for the time being.
