The Blue Jays manager John Schneider spoke to the media after yesterday's loss to the Yankees on how his team played throughout the series.
Schneider said that despite the fact that everyone is upset they were not able to get the sweep, he believes his team played really well. He added that bats were good up and down the lineup against solid Yankee pitching and thinks the Jays played extremely well throughout the series.
«You have a sweep right there against a really good team and didn't get it done, but really good homestand,» Schneider said. «Bats were really good up and down the lineup against good pitching. I thought we played extremely well.»
Many fans were upset online that Schneider made the decision to put reliever Erik Swanson in the game for his first game of the season in a save situation. Swanson went on to only pitch .1 innings while giving up 3 hits and 3 runs before being pulled.
Although it was a tough ending to the series, the Blue Jays had a very successful homestand.
