Blue Jays manager made an interesting decision yesterday as he decided to pull pitcher Yariel Rodriguez in the 4th inning despite playing very well.

Rodriguez had 4 strikeouts, 4 hits and 0 earned runs in 4.2 innings when he was pulled which he was visibly upset about in the dugout. Schneider told reporters after the game that he made the decision since he believed that 76 pitches for Rodriguez was beginning to be his limit.
John Schneider on removing Yariel Rodriguez after 4.2 IP, 4H, 0ER, BB, 4K's (76-51)

«Every pitcher is upset when you take them out.. 4.2 and you're in line for a win, I totally get it.. 75 pitches, he wasn't going back out Looking at it, you trust (Brendon) Little to get a lefty.. we weren't pitching to Judge with Little there, so he has 2 shots to get either Soto or Wells out, and with the day off 2morrow and a lot of guys available, that was kind of the thinking. He had a short outing in Baltimore so we didn't want to push him anyway»
The Blue Jays were up 2-0 when Rodriguez was pulled and would go on to lose 4-3 in extra innings which makes this move make even less sense.
