The Blue Jays took on the Yankees yesterday in a 4-3 loss in the Bronx but the big story comes in the 4th inning when John Schneider decided to pull Yariel Rodriguez off the mound.
Rodriguez was off to a solid start with 4 strikeouts, 4hits and 0 earned runs in 4.2 innings which is why he was visibly upset when Schneider decided to pull him.
Yariel Rodriguez unhappy with the decision to pull him from his start after 4.2 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 4 SO, 76 pitches and one out away from qualifying for the win.
I mean? What's the point of bringing in a lefty reliever vs. Soto with empty bases to not let your starter advance in the game?
After struggling in his last few starts, it was definitely a strange decision for Schneider to pull Rodriguez since his confidence would have benefited from pitching well deep into a game.
