The Toronto Blue Jays are still searching for their big time hitter this off-season and Keegan Matheson believes that player is free agent Anthony Santander.
The Blue Jays have had a tough off-season so far as they have missed out a pretty much every single player they have tried to sign apart from a few low level players but the real issue is the top tier players.

The Blue Jays seem to be struggling since signing by named players after Juan Soto, Corbin Burnes and Teoscar Hernandez all decided to sign elsewhere despite the Blue Jays massive offers.
While the fans base is down right now, Keegan Matheson believes that the Blue Jays will be able to land Anthony Santander this off-season as he is a perfect fit for what they are looking for.
"Players who fit the Blue Jays keep flying off the board, but Anthony Santander remains. The Blue Jays know Santander well from his days with the Orioles -- perhaps too well, after some of his performance against them -- and he profiles well to fit their lineup," wrote Matheson.
"While Teoscar Hernández was beloved in Toronto, Santander has always felt like a cleaner fit for what Ross Atkins is chasing due to the 30-year-old outfielder's ability to hit left-handed, as well as his better contact rates to pair with his power." -Matheson

Despite many believing that Santander might end up being an overpay this off-season since he will not match his career high of 44 homeruns from 2024 next season, he is clearly what the Blue Jays need.
Toronto has no other option in terms of bringing in a big time hitter and at this point all of their eggs are in one basket, if they are unable to land Santander, a rebuild is imminent.
Santander is the last bit of hope the Blue Jays have a trying to build a decent ball team for the 2025 season and if they miss on him as well, it is all over.
