Former Blue Jays first baseman Jake Lamb has signed with the Giants
The Giants announced late last night that they have agreed to a minor league deal with former Blue Jays first baseman Jake Lamb which includes a Spring Training invite and $1 million if he makes it to the majors.
Jake Lamb to Giants. Minors deal. $1M if in majors. Invite to MLB spring camp.
Lamb is a career .296 hittter but has failed to return to the player he was in 2017 when he hit 30 homeruns and 105 RBIs with the Arizona Diamondbacks which is in large part due to injury issues.
The San Francisco Giants have signed Jake Lamb to a minor league contract, per @JonHeyman . The first baseman has a .296 batting average along with 229 extra-base hits throughout his minor league career.
Lamb spent a very short amount of time with the Blue Jays as he was claimed off waivers in 2021 from the Chicago White Sox but was officially released by the team in late September.
After all the surgeries, the chances of Lamb returning to the player he used to be are slim but this could end up being a decent mover for the Giants if he is able to prove himself in Spring Training.
