Blue Jays rookie Davis Schneider started off the season on a serious heater looking like he could put up a serious fight for AL rookie of the year but things have since taking a rough turn.
Schneider recently said in an interview that he understands that he is not playing well and is currently in a pretty bad slump but feels like if he keep working hard he will get through it.
«I feel like I deserve to be here,» Schneider said. «I feel like I showed I can handle it. It's a matter of how long these slumps last. I feel like that's makes good hitters good hitters. Everyone goes through slumps. It's a matter of how long it is.
"I'm not playing well. I know that. It's just a matter of working hard and trying to get back to where I was.»
Clearly Schneider has proven earlier this year that he can be a solid player in the Majors and just needs to find a way back to that player.
While this is a pretty terrible slump, Schneider is far from the first player to deal with a slump in his first full season and will definitely not be the last.
