The Blue Jays have had an insanely disappointing season as they were believe to be one of the stronger teams in the American League headed into the season but now sit in dead last.

The players have been evidently struggling but it is hard for fans to not blame GM Ross Atkins as well. Atkins is now in his ninth season in Toronto and has yet to do anything remarkable a part from a couple solid free agent signings. There clearly needs to be some change in Toronto as the current plan is not working and firing Atkins seems to make the most sense.
Atkins, who is in his ninth season, has been given ample time and resources to make this work. Under his leadership, the Jays have seen increasingly diminished returns during each of the last two years and with most core players set to hit free agency by the end of 2025, the window of opportunity has started to slam shut.
If the Blue Jays do decide to get rid of Atkins, they will have to hire from within the organization since the deadline and draft are approaching, meaning teams won't let their top front-office executives interview for the position.
The best option from within the organization would be Vice President of baseball strategy James Click who most recently won the World Series with the Houston Astros in 2022.
Click has proven he can be a top GM in this league as he helped the Astros to a 106 win season in 2022 plus a World Series beating the Phillies.
