Toronto Blue Jays OF George Springer, is having the worst year of his career but there are some advanced stats hat suggest he can turn it around.
If you think it couldn't get worse for Springer, think again because his .188 batting average is not even the most shocking aspect of his season. He is hitting a whopping .167, with a .461 OPS with runners in scoring position.
George Springer is having an AWFUL Year (.188 BA, .559 OPS)
But he's even worse with RISP (.167 BA, .461 OPS)
However, the Blue Jays have numbers that suggest he'll turn it around soon, which is likely why he's batted in the 4,5,6 spots during this 7 game losing streak 🧠
Under analysis there is something clearly off and differnt from his swing this year and his swing from 2019.
Blue Jays OF George Springer is hitting .188 with 5 HR's this season.
He hit .283 with 39 HR's in 2019
George's body is currently broken and it appears nobody in Toronto understands it.
George rotated 135 degrees on his backside when he was in Houston. He's now rotating 45 degrees in Toronto. This makes it next to impossible for George to consistently get his barrel to the baseball.
It is likely he's suffered a disruption to his central nervous system as the muscles in his shoulder aren't working like they used to.
If someone in the Jays organization would order an EMG on his right deltoid, they'd be able to get to the bottom of his struggles.
Here's George's swing with Houston vs his 2024 swing with Toronto.
If we can take one positive out of this season is that he can't do much worse next year... Yikes.
