The Toronto Blue Jays found themselves in a massive deficit early against the New York Yankees last night, however they were able to claw back and make it close.

The Blue Jays started Kevin Gausman last night but it was not a very good game for the pitcher by any stretch. In just one inning and a third, he gave up five runs and four hits. He also walked two batters in the process, making it a truly awful start.
Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton were able to nab some home runs for the Yankees, making it even more difficult on the Blue Jays. After the sixth inning, the score was 9-2 in favor of the Yankees, and things were not looking good. In the seventh inning, according to MLB Stats, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit a home run. It was a massive play that kick-started a huge comeback effort.

Throughout the seventh inning, the Blue Jays would go on to score three runs. They did the same thing in the final inning to make the score 9-8. However, that is as far as they would get. The Yankees were able to squeak it out, and had it not been for a bad start, the Jays would have won this match.
The Blue Jays will get to play the Yankees at 1:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time today. If you are in Canada, the game will be broadcast over on Sportsnet. Stay tuned to Blue Jays Insider for the latest news and updates from around the baseball world.
