The Toronto Blue Jays plan on having an extremely busy winter ahead as they look to bring in quite a few new faces which could includes a St Louis Cardinal former all-star.
The Blue Jays currently have a very young team to the point where a couple weeks ago the entire lineup were players that played in Triple-A this season which is why they are looking to bring in a couple veteran.
According to reports, the Blue Jays are interested in brining in former all-star Matt Carpenter as he will hit free agency this winter after signing a one year deal with the Cardinals last year.
St. Louis reunited with former All-Star and fan-favorite Matt Carpenter ahead of the 2024 season after three seasons away from the team. Carpenter spent the first 11 seasons of his career in St. Louis after being selected in the 13th round of the 2009 Major League Baseball June Amateur Draft.
It's unclear what he will do, but FanSided's Zachary Rotman hypothesized that signing with the Toronto Blue Jays could help fix the American League East club. -McAvoy
Carpenter was solid for the Cardinals this season at the plate, despite being past his prime now, the Blue Jays could bring him in as a designated hitter while he can also be a huge difference maker in the club house with all the young talent they currently have.
This might not be the big move fans were hoping for but at the same time this could still help their team for next season if the acquire other pieces in the off-season.
