Easton Lucas makes surprising comments after his brutal game against the Seattle Mariners
Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Easton Lucas had an icnredibly tough game yesterday against the Seattle Mariners as he did not even make it to the second inning.
Despite the brutal loss, manager John Schneider stated that the team plans on keeping Lucas on the starting rotation for the time being but no one knows how long that will last if he puts up another brutal game.
Easton Lucas speaks afetr brutal game against the Mariners
Lucas started the season on fire with the Blue Jays but has fallen part over the last few games with yesterday's game being all-time bad as he gave up 7 hits and 6 earned runs in 1.2 innings pitched.
After the game, Lucas spoke to the media stating that he had no excuse for how poorly he played as terribly and admitted that he simply could not figure anything out against the Mariners.
Easton Lucas on his start: "This time was just awful. I wasn't executing pitches. I wasn't throwing strikes. I was kind of just bad all around ... Every time I just managed to screw it up."
This is not Lucas' first bad game as he had a tough outing out two games ago as well which he admitted to during his interview but stated that things were even worse against the Mariners.
Easton Lucas called his performance «unacceptable» and pointed to his off-speed pitches as a major reason why.
«Last time was really frustrating, this time was just awful.» #BlueJays
After back to back bad games from Lucas, the Blue Jasy apparently plan on keeping him around but he is surely on thin ice as they cannot afford a loss every time he takes the mound.
It should be interesting to see who the Blue Jays throw into the rotation if they end up moving on from Lucas if he does not figure out how to improve his game quickly.
