Ever since the MLB trade deadline, Alejandro Kirk has taken over as the Blue Jays #1 guy behind the plate. Kirk has been dominating which he attributes to a very special superstition performed by the Jays Bullpen catcher and catching coach Luis Hurtado.

When Alejandro Kirk is at bat, Luis Hurtado takes two of his bats and continuously taps them together and it clearly is having a great effect. The Jays catcher is now hitting .248/.322/.358 with 41 RBI's, 18 runs scored, 12 doubles and no stolen bases through 78 contests this season. The numbers don't seem to jump off the page as being dominant, but based on the start of his season, his numbers have come way up.
Bullpen catcher/catching coach Luis Hurtado is once again tapping Alejandro Kirk's bats together for good luck. He's been on a roll when Hurtado has performed this «ritual» #BlueJays
Do you think superstition actually have an effect on a players performance?
