The Blue Jays catcher Alejandro Kirk finally get his first homerun of the season in the third game of the series against the Dodgers.
Kirk has been struggling immensely at the plate so far this season with only 12 hits in 62 at bats with 2 runs and 10 RBIs giving him a .194 batting average and .288 on base percentage.

It's @alejandro_kirk 's first homer of the season!
The 26 year-old catcher is mostly known for his defensive skills as he is one of the best catcher in the league at framing pitches but his difficulties at the plate so far this year have been overshadowing everything else.
Hopefully this homerun gives him a boost of confidence and he starts to connect with the ball a little more. While no one is expecting Kirk to become a great hitter, if he is able to improve a little bit, it will help the Blue Jays be more affective on offense.
Clearly if the Blue Jays hope to get passed their offensive struggles, it will not be players such as Kirk that will turn things around but every little bit helps.
