Bo Bichette broke a stunning drought for the Blue Jays. The home run jacket made a surprise return to celebrate
After facing some criticism, the celebratory 'home run jacket was retired for goof after last season, though, with the misfortune and lackluster season so far, the Jays are trying to shake things up and decided to bring it back last game vs the Chicago White Sox.
The Toronto Blue Jays had their biggest inning yet this season, scoring 7 runs in the second inning which was topped by Bo Bichette's 3rd home run of the season. They ended up crushing the White Sox 9-2 in the end for their first real offensive bright spot seen in a long time.

In more exciting news, Bichette's home run in the 3rd inning marked the first home run out of the cleanup spot for the Toronto Blue Jays in 47 games, the longest drought seen in franchise history and 2nd in MLB history.
«I'm not saying a home run jacket is going to fix our season or do anything different, but when guys are pulling in the same direction, that's a good thing,» team manager John Schneider said post game . Whether it's a jacket, whether it's a handshake, whether it's a red carpet, whatever it is, you need to have something that just unifies everybody. I thought it was cool that they broke it out today.» - Schneider

The jacket is a mark of celebration and pride for when a player hits a home run, it is supposed to be a rendition of the Green Jacket that the Champion golfer receives for winning The Masters. it is also used a symbol and pride for diversity that the team in made up of, using patches and phrases in different languages.
It was retired because of the backlash it receives when the players were seen celebrating and being happy for a home run even though in some instances they were losing.
