MLB legend David Ortiz becomes the first Dominican to be own an MLB team

News broke yesterday that MLB legend David Ortiz made history as the first Dominican to own a team as he now owns part of the Boston Red Sox.
Ortiz is one of the biggest names in baseball in the last 25 years and is regarded as one of the best Red Sox players of all-time as he led them to breaking the curse of the great Bambino and multiple World Series.

According to recent reports, Ortiz has become a share holder of the Boston Red Sox and as such is the first Dominican to do so in MLB history but the exact amount invested has yet to be announced.

Fans replied to the post on social media breaking the news that they are very happy to have a Red Sox hero as part of the ownership now and believe he can help turn the team around like he did as a player.

Happy to hear. Big Papi was great during the playoffs. Really entertaining watching him and Jeter go back and forth. Does anyone think he's joining ownership so the BOSOX can maximize his credibility when recruiting free agents?
Ortiz has apparently been helping the Red Sox attempt to land superstar free agent Juan Soto who idolized Ortiz growing up which as an owner of the team now he will be a great help in recruiting players in the future.
