During a recent interview on Sportsnet 590, insider Ben Nicholson-Smith stated that as things continue to drag on in the negotiations, Guerrero might be starting to change his mind on if he wants to return to Toronto.
Most fans and insiders saw this coming since Guerrero was so quick to say he wants to stay but as the team takes more and more time to figure out if they want him back, it is normal that he is starting to lose faith and feel unwanted.
If Atkins ends up messing up this entire situation with Guerrero, not only will fans totally check out and stop attending games but he will also likely end up losing his job since a repeat of the 2024 season will end up costing the team a lot of money.
The clear decision is to keep Guerrero since he is their best player and locking him down would help the team land big time free agents this winter but for some reason, the front office seems to think differently.
