The Toronto Blue Jays season is now underway, and another trade proposal has surfaced between the Blue Jays and the Chicago Cubs as speculation continues to circle around Vladimir Guerrero junior.

Despite the constant dialogue between the two parties that a deal can be reached, Bailey Bassett of clutch points has proposed what a trade would look like between the Cubs and the Blue Jays as the team would receive four prospects in return.

Blue Jays would have chance to restock prospect cupboard with deal

Moving a player like Vladimir Guerrero junior would certainly require significant assets in return despite becoming a free agent at the end of the year. The trade would see four prospects coming back to the Blue Jays in exchange for Guerrero Jr only.
- Blue Jays receive: Matt Shaw (Cubs' No. 1 prospect, MLB No. 19 prospect), Owen Caissie (Cubs' No. 3 prospect, MLB No. 53 prospect), Jefferson Rojas (Cubs' No. 7 prospect, MLB No. 96 prospect) and Jack Neely (Cubs No. 16 prospect)

- Cubs receive: Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
"We're going to give all we have to help the team win and try to bring a World Series Championship back to Toronto."

These players would certainly help the Blue Jays soon and down the road as the team it's still use more prospects in their farm system.
This trade proposal would likely occur closer to the July trade deadline and the Blue Jays season would also factor along with Guerrero Jr performance which has come into question at times over the past number of years.
"This kid is born in Canada, he wants to be there - you got to lock him up." #MLBTonight goes into why the Blue Jays need to extend their superstar first baseman, Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

Tough contract talks softening between Blue Jays and Guerrero Jr

Prior to the season beginning, it became clear that Guerrero junior was adamant that contract talks would not continue and that it would not become a distraction. That is far from the truth as the Blue Jays had offered him another contract deal just prior to opening day.
There has also been a stance between mark Shapiro and Guerrero junior that both parties would like to find a deal sooner rather than later which means dialogue is continuing despite the hard deadline.
This is expected as many feel that the Blue Jays would continue to talk and try to find a way to bridge the gulf between what is keeping them signing a long-term deal as the Blue Jays would like to keep him in the end which could also help sign Bo Bichette who will also be a free agent at the end of the season.
It's safe to say that the face of the franchise is looking for a deal and it appears the
Blue Jays may be willing to find a number that makes sense and get this done once and for all.
