MLB reporter Zach Pressnell stated that the Toronto Blue Jays could be interested in a trade with the Boston Red Sox for first baseman Triston Casas.

During a recent press conference, GM Ross Atkins stated that he is still looking to make moves this off-season but that they would likely be coming through trade which is why this move makes so much sense.

The Blue Jays could look at trade with the Red Sox for Triston Casas

According to MLB reporter Zach Pressnell, the Blue Jays could be very interested in a trade with the Red Sox for first baseman Triston Casas which would give the Blue Jays some much needed additional offense.
This move would also make sense for the Red Sox since they would be able to finally move Raphael Devers to first base and would likely get some extremely solid prospects in return.
"If Toronto wants to bring in a talented hitter with a bright future, they could call the Boston Red Sox and ask about 24-year-old star first baseman Triston Casas. This would move Guerrero over to third base while Casas plays first. It would also give Guerrero a young running mate who could grow with the team for years to come." -Pressnell

This move would also make Guerrero quite happy since it would move him over to third base which he has stated a few times this off-season is his favorite position to play.
Acquiring Casas would definitely come at a price but the Blue Jays have some solid prospects that they would be able to use in a trade for acquire him which would be worth it since he has a ton of potential and is only 25 years old.
"The Blue Jays have the capabilities to swing a blockbuster trade this winter. Not only do they have the money to chase the big name free agents like Alonso and company, but they also have a loaded farm system of prospects," wrote Pressnell.

In 2023 Casas was a finalist for the AL Rookie of the Year finishing with 24 homeruns and 65 RBIs but in 2024 he dealt with some injuries only playing in 63 games but still finishing with 13 homeruns and 32 RBIs.
Clearly if the Blue Jays are able to add him, it would be massive for their offense moving forward, especially if they end up re-signing Guerrero to an extension.
