MLB insider Mark Feinsand recently gave a great update regarding the Toronto Blue Jays and free agent Alex Bregman as they apparently still have a chance at signing him.

Bregman is without a doubt the most talented free agent still available which Feinsand also confirmed and he is still attracting attention from quite a few teams but is not willing to lower his asking price.
Far and away the best player still available, Bregman is the last man standing from this winter's list of the top free agents available. -Feinsand

MLB insider Mark Feinsand confirms that the Blue Jays still have a chance at signing Alex Bregman

In Feinsand's recent article, he stated that Bregman's former team the Houston Astros have re entered the picture but the chances of a deal getting done are slim since he is not willing to take a short term deal.
There have been whispers in recent weeks about a potential reunion with the Astros, though a source termed that possibility as having a «very small chance» of happening. -Feinsand

Bregman is a client of Scott Boras who has had some clients this summer that were seeking long term deals like Pete Alonso but ended up changing their mind and signing short term contracts but it looks like Bregman is not willing to follow in those footsteps which is good news for the Blue Jays.
The Blue Jays, Tigers and Red Sox still seem to be in play to varying degrees, but unlike some of Scott Boras' other clients, Bregman appears to have no desire to sign a short-term deal with opt outs. -Feinsand

The Blue Jays and Detroit Tigers seem to be the frontrunners to land Bregman because they are the two teams willing to offer Bregman long term deals which apparently both of them have made offers on six year contract.
The Blue Jays and Tigers feel like the favorites, though it remains to be seen whether either steps up with the type of offer that will satisfy Bregman. -Feinsand

While Blue Jays fans do not want to get their hopes up with how things played out with Alonso last week, the good news is that the Blue Jays still have a chance at landing him.
