The Toronto Blue Jays organization continues to assess it's roster while collecting their thoughts on the failure to landing Pete Alonso now back with the New York Mets and a former Mets veteran chose to call out the Blue Jays and mock them.

"If they get [Pete Alonso], you can start to dream a little bit about this team. I think it's a great fit."

During a recent Foul Territory video, Frazier states that the Blue Jays never had a chance to land the first baseman who had signed a two-year extension with the Mets worth $54 million which includes an opt in clause in the second year for Alonso.

Alonso had his sights set with the Mets the whole time

«If I'm the Blue Jays sitting there thinking, I could have got this guy for 2 years, 54 million, oh my god, they could have easily done a lot more than that and still been fine with it I think that's Pete, he didn't want to leave. I think he's comfortable there.» Todd Frazier

Reports were conflicting throughout the web that the Blue Jays were confident in landing Alonso as they were the highest bidder for his services and was willing to give him a three-year deal worth between 75 and 90 million dollars.
Happy Saturday!! The good vibes are flowing right this morning and we know that they are coming your way! So be ready to laugh, smile and keep moving forward towards your goals! Bregman watch continues and now he is being linked to the Blue Jays, what a lineup that would be!

Some have suggested that Alonzo used the Blue Jays for leverage as the New York Mets were originally not willing to pay him the money he wanted which was around $30 million per season. In the end, he got his wish and received a $30 million one year which includes an opt in of $24 million in year two.

Vladimir Guerreo Jr now main priority for the Blue Jays

The organization has been working hard to try to convince third baseman free agent Alex bregman to sign a six-year contract with the Blue Jays. Blue Jays management is waiting his decision and, in the meantime, they have decided to announce that any future changes will likely come through trade rather than signing players.
Blue Jays are actively negotiating an extension with Vladimir Guerrero Jr., and he's the most important hitter in their lineup so the recent NYM trade speculation feels like wishful thinking on the part of the Mets (and possibly an attempt to gain leverage on Pete Alonso).

The biggest priority for this organization is to lock down their best player in Vladimir Guerrero Jr who is working towards a mega deal north of $400 million. Reports are showing that talks are ongoing and making the attempt to sign him long term without too much media coverage.
It remains to be seen on how general manager Ross Atkins we'll get this done considering how unlucky he has been over the past couple of months this offseason but many Blue Jays fans hope that they can sign their star and hopefully planned more throughout the season.
