The Blue Jays are working through their first series of the season against the Baltimore Orioles, and it was reported that Blue Jays starting pitcher Max Scherzer has been active in the clubhouse talking pitching and critiquing himself.

The 40-year-old veteran has been showing his leadership qualities in the clubhouse as he discusses pitching in how to improve his throw and other members of his new rotation.

It became clear that the Blue Jays players including Jose Berrios, Chris Bassitt, Kevin Gausman and Bowden Francis are thrilled that Scherzer has joined the team and continues to listen with ways to improve their throw and mechanics from the Three-time Cy Young winner and two-time World Series champion.
Scherzer also explains how he enjoys critiquing his own throw and pitching style.

Scherzer had tough start to his career with the Blue Jays

During Spring Training, Scherzer was battling a thumb issue which has plagued him for the last number of weeks.
During his first start of the season, he only managed 3 innings of work and had to withdraw from the mound due to soreness in his right lat.
"After that third inning, I could just kind of tell we were in imminent danger." Max Scherzer on his right-lat injury.

Scherzer had an 80-pitch limit in his first game but only managed to pitch 45 times before leaving the mound in the Blue Jays 9-5 loss to Baltimore.
The team will need to wait and see how long he will be out for as he continues to work on his thumb and now his soreness which are related.
The Blue Jays will play their final game of their opening series against the Orioles and hope to split the series at two games apiece. The game will take place on March 30th at 1:37 PM Eastern.
