The Toronto Blue Jays are still far from being done this off-season and they seem to be looking for a DH which could end up being former Chicago White Sox third baseman Yoan Moncada.

The Blue Jays have been linked to multiple solid hitter this off-season such as Teoscar Hernandez and Anthony Santander but if things go as they have so far this winter, the Blue Jays might miss out on them too.

According to reporter Hannah Fillipo, the Blue Jays could be interested in Moncada as a solid depth player that could step in as a third baseman or a DH when they are in need.
"Moncada would play the best with a team with an established third baseman and DH but wishes to add depth," wrote Filippo. "If he's healthier than expected, teams can use him as a trade piece or give him more starting chances." -Fillipo

Moncada is coming off a tough 2024 season filled with injuries as he only played in 12 games but if he is fully healthy, he could be a decent option for the Blue Jays at a reasonable price.
Moncada played in just 12 games last season. Injuries have kept him off the field, and the trend has continued in the offseason. He left the Premier12 tournament after a hand injury. He fouled a ball off his foot on December 15 in the Puerto Rican Winter League. He is likely not going to play again in the league as he prioritizes his health while looking for a Major League Baseball deal. -Mohammed

The former White Sox third baseman signed a five year $70 million deal with Chicago back in 2020 but declined his $25 million option for the 2025 season as he is looking for more stability.
While listing landing spots for remaining Chicago White Sox free agents, FanSided's Hannah Filippo predicted that Yoán Moncada would sign with the Blue Jays. The White Sox signed Moncada to a five-year, $70 million extension in 2020, but declined his $25 million option for 2025. -Mohammed

This is a risky choice for the Blue Jays due to Moncada's health and the fact that the last time he was a threat offensively was in 2019 when he hit his career high 25 homeruns and 79 RBIs.
If the Blue Jays land him at a cheap price then it is worth the risk but if he is looking for another 5 year deal, they should simply walk away.
