Toronto Blue Jays broadcaster states the team is closing on a trade to replace George Springer
Toronto Blue Jays broadcaster Joe Siddall was recently on Sportsnet on the Blair & Barker show and made a pretty big statement regarding the team looking to close a trade to replace George Springer as their leadoff hitter.
The Blue Jays have made it clear that they are still looking to find a solution to their leadoff hitter problems since it looks like
George Springer has lost the role after his struggles at the plate over the last two years.
Blue Jays broadcaster Joe Siddall states the team might close a trade for a new leadoff hitter
The Blue Jays have been looking at a few different options internally to replace Springer at leadoff which include Bo Bichette, Andres Gimenez and Alan Roden who could all be a nice fit.
Blue Jays broadcaster Joe Siddall was recently asked about the battle for the leadoff hitter spot to which he mentioned that he believes that player is not in camp yet with the Blue Jays as he added that they will close a trade to bring in a new leadoff hitter.
«What if the lead-off hitter's not in camp yet? My only solution is that it comes from the outside somewhere if they can pull off a trade.»

This would make a lot of sense since manager John Schneider has made it clear that the team is still unsure on who will be hitting at leadoff to start the 2025 season.
GM Ross Atkins also stated towards the end of the off-season that the team was not done looking at moves to improve the team and a trade could be possible since there is not real difference making free agents still available.
It will be interesting to see if
Siddall is right or if the Blue Jays end up solving this problem internally.
