Former Toronto Blue Jays relief pitcher Jay Jackson has finally found himself a new contract but unfortunately it is not in the MLB as he is headed to Mexico.

The Blue Jays have seen a lot of their former players sign deals this off-season and while many have been able to stay in the MLB, some such as Jackson had to sign elsewhere.

Jackson was drafted by the Chicago Cubs back in the ninth round of the 2008 MLB draft and battled his way into the MLB finally getting his first shot in 2015 with the San Diego Padres.
The reliever's best season came in 2023 with the Toronto Blue Jays where he started off the season in Triple-A but quickly got called up finishing with a 2.12 ERA in 29.2 innings pitched.
Jays fans may remember Jackson from the 2023 season, where the veteran arm authored an impressive 2.12 ERA through 25 relief appearances after starting the year in triple-A Buffalo. -Shushkewich

Last season, Jackson signed with the Minnesota Twins and things did not go well for the veteran reliever as he finished with a 7.52 ERA in 26.1 innings pitched for the Twins.
The 2024 season was most likely what stopped Jackson from getting a MLB contract this season and his game saw a big decline plus with his age, it was unlikely that he would land another deal.
