Scherzer has an incredible past in the MLB as he has been one of the best pitchers in the MLB over the last decade as an 8 time all-star, two time World Series champion and three time Cy Young winner.
Despite the long list of accolades, Scherzer is now 40 years old and has dealt with a ton on injuries over the last two seasons as he has only made 36 starts since 2023 which worries fans.

Despite only playing in 43.1 inning last season, Scherzer did put up solid numbers for the Texas Rangers and has proven that he can still be a high end pitched regardless of his age.
Max Scherzer only pitched 43.1 innings last year, but the data was still really good.

36.4 Chase% (99th percentile)
29.2 Whiff% (77th percentile)
87.9 average EV against (73rd percentile)
34.9 Hardhit% against (73rd percentile)

His cutter also displayed very good results.
While some might be worried about this season, others believe that this is a great move not only for the Blue Jays starting rotation but for the clubhouse and mentality as Scherzer is a winner.
It will be interesting to see how Scherzer ends up doing in his first season in Toronto.
