The Toronto Blue Jays seem to be in shambles right now as free agency is going terribly and now Bo Bichette wants no part in returning to Toronto in free agency.
Bob Nightengale states Bo Bichette does not want to return to Toronto in free agency
The Blue Jays are in a terrible spot right now as both Bichette and Vladimir Guerrero Jr seem to have no more intrest in returning to Toronto despite stating otherwise during the season.
According to MLB insider Bob Nightengale, if the Blue Jays keep Bichette for the 2025 season, he plans on signing elsewhere in free agency next winter when his contract is up.
This is the final year before Vladimir Guerrero and Bo Bichette leave town as free agents.
Bichette is as good as gone, with no real interest in returning, friends say. -Nightengale
#BlueJays INF Bo Bichette is a free-agent after this year and is «as good as gone,» per @BNightengale
Nightengale notes Bichette has «no real interest in returning» to TOR once he hits free-agency.
This seems to make it clear that the Blue Jays will now look to move on from Bichette before the 2025 season or at the latest they will trade him at the 2025 trade deadline instead of losing him for nothing in free agency.
It seems clear that GM Ross Atkins has run this team into the ground but for some reason ownership does not seem to want to get rid of him.
