The Toronto Blue Jays are still looking for a solution to their starting rotation and might have finally found it in free agent pitcher Jack Flaherty.

The Blue Jays hoped to lock down free agent Corbin Burnes but failed to do so as he agreed to a six year deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks as he had little interest in heading to the East coast.

The Blue Jays are still in need of adding at least one solid pitcher to their starting rotation for the upcoming season and Jack Flaherty might be the perfect fit for them.
According to MLB reporter Russell Steinberg, he believes that Flaherty would be a perfect fit for the Blue Jays as he could give their rotation a serious boost in consistency.
The Toronto Blue Jays need to sign somebody - anybody - to salvage another disappointing offseason. Picking up a starter with World Series experience could help the organization save face.

Flaherty had a great season in 2024 split between the Dodger and Tigers as he finished with an incredible 3.17 ERA in 162 innings pitched while striking out 194 batters in that time.
Acquired by the Los Angeles Dodgers in July from the Detroit Tigers, Flaherty went 6-2 with a 3.58 ERA down the stretch and then started five games during the postseason. He pitched two games in the 2024 World Series, with mixed results - going 5.1 innings with two runs allowed with six strikeouts in the opener, before being shelled in Game 5. -Carothers

If the Blue Jays are able to add Flaherty, their starting rotation could see a serious jump in the 2025 season.
While the Blue Jays missed out on a ton of free agents, they can still get something done with the players that are left.
