Toronto Blue Jays fans have been hoping that the team will be able to sign superstar free agent Juan Soto this winter and it looks like they among the few teams that can afford him.

Soto is coming off an incredible season in New York as he helped lead the team to the World Series which they ended up losing in 5 games to the Los Angeles Dodgers a few nights ago.

According to reports the Blue Jays cannot afford to sign free agent Juan Soto

Soto has officially become a free agent despite not being able to sign a deal for another few days, rumors on where he will end up signing have been everywhere as he is the biggest free agent on the market this winter.
According to recent report, the Blue Jays are among one of four teams that can afford to sign Soto and are currently ranked 3rd most likely to land him. Most insiders believes that the team can afford it since they were competing with the Dodgers to sign Shohei Ohtani last winter which unfortunately feel through.
How do we know the Blue Jays are up for an Ohtani-esque number? Well, because they were willing to literally pay Ohtani last winter, until the Great Flight-Tracking Debacle of 2023 resulted in him actually winding up in Dodger blue. But Toronto remains a major player: Its ownership group, Rogers Communications, is a massive company with very deep pockets, and the team should be desperate to put a winner on the field coming off a last-place finish and with both Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette headed toward free agency. -Landers

Signing Soto will not be easy since many teams will be gunning for him but it looks like they actually have a chance at doing it.
The teams listed alongside the Blue Jays that could afford the superstar are the New York Yankees, New York Mets and San Francisco Giants.
