The Toronto Blue Jays seem to have quite a few decent prospects heading into the 2025 and they were recently ranked which Ricky Tiedemann missing from the top 5.
The Blue Jays have taken a lot of heat for their prospect pool after being ranked 24th in the league at the end of the season but it does not seem to be that bad when looking at the talent on hand.
The Toronto Blue Jays top 5 prospects announced
To no surprise, the Blue Jays number prospect is their 2024 1st round pick, pitcher Trey Yesavage coming out of East Carolina University and expected to crack into the majors by 2027. Yesavage was seen as the steal of the draft as many expected him to be taken higher than 20th due to his four pitch mix and command of the baseball at such a young age.

The Blue Jays were thrilled that Yesavage fell to them at the 20th pick of this summer's amateur draft. He became an ace at East Carolina and dominated his AAC competition all season. He struck out batters at 40.3% in his Junior season using his four-pitch mix and above-average command. He's the rare high-floor arm with the potential to grow into much more. -Prospects live
The ranking has shortstop Arjun Nimmala ranked second which is not too surprising after the year he had to go along with
the high praises from Francisco Lindor who trains with Nimmala in the off-season.
Orelvis Martinez dropped to number 3 on the list after being suspended for 80 games in 2024 for using PEDs. Pitcher Jake Bloss occupied the fourth spot while Will Wagner took the 5th spot.
The biggest surprise from this list comes from pitcher Ricky
Tiedemann who was left off of it after being the Blue Jays number 1 prospect heading in 2024 but had his season ended due to Tommy John surgery.
